Mountain Bike Clubs: Advocacy, Support, and Group Rides
Getting involved in mountain bike clubs is a great way to meet others who are passionate about mountain biking. Mountain biking clubs are important because they promote mountain biking, build and maintain trails, and provide education about safe riding.
I have gotten involved in a couple of local mountain biking organizations and it has been a great way to find riding buddies and get the scoop on what types of events, races and rides are happening in my area. I have also learned about new trails in my area and singletrack that I had not yet touched! It doesn't get much better than that.
I have listed a few of my favorite mountain bike clubs below and plan to add to the list as I hear about more organizations. If you have a favorite mountain biking organization that you would like listed, submit the name, location, and a brief description of it in the form below and we will add it to the list.
International Mountain Bike Clubs
The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA)- IMBA is a nonprofit world-wide organization that has the largest membership base of mountain bikers in the world. IMBA's mission is to create, enhance and preserve great trail experiences for mountain bikers.
I am proud to be a member of IMBA because of all the great things they do for mountain biking. It is because of IMBA's work that we are able to ride great singletrack because they build and maintain trails and advocate for mountain bikers to be able to use existing trails. They also give you a free gift, like a calendar or a T-shirt, with the purchase of an annual membership.
